Klostergade is located in the heart of the historical centre, with it's beautiful old houses, cobblestone streets and medieval atmosphere. The cathedral, abbey, castle ruins, museums, cafés, restaurants and pedestrian mall is all within walking distance. There is only two minutes walk to Scandinavia's oldest town hall, where thousands of couples from all over the world choose to get married every year. Many wedding couples choose to stay with us for the big day. In the summer, it is also possible to follow the night watchman on his free guided tour of Ribe, or visit the viking centre few kilometres from the town centre.
Ribe's unique location makes possible many day trips. The marsh and wadden sea has just become Denmark's first national park. Take the Mandø bus to Mandø island, go on bird watching trips or seal safari, look for amber on the beaches or simply take a walk on the dike along the coast. In the autumn, this area is famous for the "black sun", when thousands of migrant birds gather to go south. Other possibilities are to make day trips to Tønder, Møgeltønder and the Nolde Museum just south of the border.
We have quality bikes for hire for those of our guests who did not bring the car.
We are at the disposal as witnesses for those of our guests getting married on fridays and saturdays.
